ABOUT
About Wookids
Wookids describes itself as offering sustainable, grow-with-me design furniture for babies and children. Its range is organised into named design lines: Destyle is described as timeless and modern, made from solid beech in natural oiled or white lacquered finishes; Kasva reflects nature with a modern white look and organically shaped play elements in oiled oak; Deluxe is a toddler play world where play and wood merge; and Kera is a baby collection in solid ash with fine lines. The brand also links to a rental service for baby beds as a route to sustainability.
Why it stands out
The collections are built to be adapted rather than replaced, and the brand also rents baby beds and co-sleepers as an alternative to buying new.
DESIGN NOTES
Wookids children's furniture design
Destyle is described as timeless, modern and inspired by the De Stijl design of the Bauhaus, made from solid beech wood in natural oiled or white lasured finish, and as adapting to the children's room and the development of children. Kasva is described as reflecting nature, with a modern white look combined with organically shaped play elements in oiled oak. Deluxe is described as a fantasy-rich and safe toddler play world where play and wood merge. Kera is described as a baby collection in solid ash wood with fine lines, with a choice of 4 design variants of base feet that can be combined with two cot tops.
