ABOUT
About Wonder Wood
Wonder Wood makes personalised furniture and play pieces for young families and childcare settings, designed for children from birth to five years and handmade in Belgium from FSC-certified wood. The range grows out of Montessori principles and out of open-ended play, in which a child decides what an object is for: balancing boards made for use with stacking stones, a wooden children's chair that works as a seat, a table or a step, and a wooden play and storage chest. Forms stay minimal and functional so they fit a home as well as a playroom, and surfaces are sanded smooth without sharp edges.
Why it stands out
Montessori principles and open-ended play shape the range: balancing boards, a wooden children's chair that doubles as table or step, and a play chest.
DESIGN NOTES
Wonder Wood children's furniture design
Wonder Wood uses a minimal, functional design intended to fit both home interiors and play spaces. Its wooden children's chair is multifunctional, working as a chair, table or step. Balance boards are designed for use with stacking stones. Pieces are sanded smooth with child-friendly edges, and the chair is treated with natural, child-friendly oils.
