ABOUT
About Mathy by Bols
Mathy by Bols designs and makes children's furniture in its own workshops in Belgium, and says each piece is made with care, favouring durable materials and creative design. Its identity is built on themed beds and structures: the Cabane Star pairs a solid fir frame with MDF cladding, a roll-up slatted base and reversible roof and side panels, and the same frame becomes a Montessori bed when the tent element is removed. It uses PEFC-certified wood and offers more than thirty water-based lacquers. Alongside beds the range covers desks, wardrobes, shelving and storage.
Why it stands out
Themed structures are the signature: reversible roof and side panels, tent frames and Montessori formats let one bed frame become several rooms.
DESIGN NOTES
Mathy by Bols children's furniture design
The pages describe reversible roof and side panels on the Cabane Star, a tent structure with bed frame and roll-up base for a 90x190 or 200 cm mattress, a removable ecru cloth with strips, and a Montessori bed Virginie Dominique collection when the tipi is removed. Basile shelves are described as MDF 18 mm and 25 mm, with column widths of 53 cm, 73 cm or 93 cm, locker heights of 26 cm or 36 cm, a depth of 40 cm, and optional two-door boxes in the same widths and heights. The Cabane Star has solid half-rough fir structure legs and rails, MDF cladding, a roll-up slatted base and one interior shelf, and an optional bed drawer or storage from the New Classics collection.
