About Kid's Concept
Kid's Concept was founded in Sweden in 2007 by three women who asked whether all toys had to be ugly and made of plastic, and built a company around Scandinavian-designed wooden toys and children's room furnishings. Products are designed from a child's perspective by the brand's designer Lotta Hallenius, and the company says a fully tested product can take six to eighteen months to reach a child. Wood is preferred over plastic, and Kid's Concept works on a long-term basis with a small group of skilled suppliers mainly in Europe and Asia, with a controller visiting the factories.

Kid's Concept children's furniture design
Our designer, Lotta Hallenius, has an eye for detail. She enjoys exploring and trying out new things, working with different materials, and combining these with colours that are interesting to put together. A simple drawing on a piece of paper is usually where the process begins. And it always starts from a child’s perspective. The toys must be safe and functional to play with. In order to gain a mutual understanding of the quality standards that must be met, we are committed to working closely with our selected skilled suppliers, mainly in Asia and in Europe, on a long-term basis. Every time Kid’s Concept designs a product, we do so with a focus on the harmony between sustainability and functionality. It can take anywhere from six to eighteen months for a fully tested product to reach a child’s hands.
